Parenting Education Program

What: The Fairfax County Department of Family Services offers the Parenting Education Program, which runs for 13-16 sessions, depending on the curriculum used (curricula are age-based: 0-4 years, 5-11 years, 12-18 years). These classes teach positive and effective ways parents can interact with, communicate with, and support their children at every age and stage of development. They offer in-person and virtual classes, as well as classes in English and Spanish. They provide childcare and meals for all participants during in-person classes. 

When: 

For ages 0-4, in-person Spanish classes run 9/14/26 to 12/14/26, Mondays 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM; and virtual classes run 9/14/26 to 12/16/26, Mondays 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 

For ages 5-11, virtual classes run 9/2/26 to 12/9/26, Wednesdays 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM; in-person classes run 9/3/26 to 12/10/26, Thursdays 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM; and virtual Spanish classes run 9/9/26 to 12/16/26, Wednesdays 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 

For ages 12-18, virtual classes run 9/24/26 to 12/17/26, Thursdays 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM; in-person Spanish classes run 9/28/26 to 12/14/26, Mondays 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Phone line hours are Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. 

Where: Most classes are offered virtually. 

For ages 0-4, Spanish in-person classes are hosted at ACCA Child Development Center, 7200 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003. 

For ages 5-11, in-person classes are hosted at Grace Presbyterian Church,  7434 Bath Street, Springfield, VA 22150. 

For ages 12-18, Spanish in-person classes are hosted at Messiah United Methodist Church, 6215 Rolling Road, Springfield, VA 22152. 

Costs: No cost associated.
