What: Fairfax Connector is the largest local bus system in the Northern Virginia region, with 90 routes daily. Children 12 and under ride free; students in Middle and High School with a Bus Pass ride free. The TRIP Program aims to reduce transportation barriers for low-income individuals by offering 100% off Fairfax Connector bus fares through the new TRIP100 program.

Where: Bus stops are throughout Reston and Fairfax.
Cost: Regular routes are $2.25 and can be paid in cash or with a SmartTrip card. With the TRIP100 program, bus fares are 100% off (free).
Who: The bus system is avaliable to anyone. The TRIP100 program has specific elegibility criteria. If you fall into one or more of the following criteria, you may be eligeble for TRIP100.
50 years of age or older, with an annual income of $50,000 or less per individual.
Registered user of MetroAccess.
Recipient of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
Annual income of $32,805, or 225% of Federal Poverty Limit for an individual, 50 years of age or younger.
Currently receiving services and have a caseworker through another County agency or organization.
How to access: To ride the bus, go to the bus stop for your route, arrive around 5 minutes before scheduled bus departure. You will need to pay when you board the bus with either a SmartTrip card or cash. Visit https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/ to find the route that works best for you.
